Michael Hans is a fourth-generation currency exchange owner and has been around the currency exchange business his entire life. A lifelong mid-westerner, Michael was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Michael graduated from the University of Iowa, and upon graduation returned to Illinois to join the family’s currency exchange business. He is a former head of the Community Currency Exchange Association of Illinois’ Junior Board, and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Community Currency Exchange Association of Illinois.
Michael’s enduring connection not only to the currency exchange business and the communities they serve, but also to the mission of Back 2 School Illinois has strengthened his desire to assist Illinois schoolchildren. As a son to a former teacher and a brother to a current Chicago Public School teacher, here is where Michael hopes to assist in delivering help to the children of Illinois who need it the most.
“Our work at the Foundation meets an important need. By providing children with their required school supplies, we hope to give them a leg up on the first day of school, by allowing them to enter the classroom with the knowledge that they have the tools they need to succeed.”
